You don’t want to just walk on to a New Jersey high school fencing team as a freshman. You want to arrive prepared. We have you covered. Squad assessment for those who are new to the game. Footwork - form - function. Blade work, direct, simple, effective. Tactics, when, what, why. Plus the ins and outs of NJ HS Fencing - the season squad tournament schedule, dual meets, how to win a championship, and everything else.

Freshman Prep Camp details:
Location : South Mountain Martial Arts, Madison, NJ 07940 ; w3w = live.powers.again
Dates : Monday through Friday / Boys = July 15 - 19; Girls = July 22 - 26
Time : 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, warmup begins promptly at 1:00 PM
Friday : Full high school dual meet
Required : AAUsports.org youth athlete membership extended ($22)

Required : shoes that will only be used for fencing. The SMMA facility uses a specialty martial arts mat flooring. NO outside shoes will be permitted on the blue mat.
Required : Fencing equipment - Purchase your own at Absolute Fencing Gear in Sommerville, NJ / Rent from your high school team / contact us
Limited spots : 6 fencers per squad each week ( 6 sabres, 6 foils, 6 epees )
Costs : $585 registration per child / does not include equipment, shoes, or AAU
Discounts : $25 for movie ticket or selfie with any movie member from any showing of
